Pimlico boutique hotel, Georgian House, has introduced a smartphone for guests to use complimentary for the duration of their stay, partnering with technology provider Handy.
The hotel will give guests access to the device, which can then be used for browsing the web, navigating around London, taking pictures and free and unlimited business and personal phone calls to anyone across the world.
Home to 63 bedrooms, Georgian House Hotel underwent a refurbishment earlier this year to transform its restaurant into a stylish new dining room, now serving breakfast and afternoon tea.
On the new smartphone addition, Adam Rowledge, general manager of Georgian House, says: “The Handy smartphones provide guests with the opportunity to stay in touch with work, family and friends without worrying about the huge costs that normal service providers charge. In-room technology is set to be one of the biggest hotel trends in 2017 and we’re delighted that our collaboration with Handy will allow us to take the hotel’s offering to the next level.”
Handy phones first started to appear in hotels in Hong Kong and Singapore in 2012 but just a few years later, Handy has extended its offering to hotels across Europe. Its smartphones come with Facebook, Instagram, Skype and a handful of travel tools pre-installed so guests can just log into their profiles and start exploring.
