The 14-bedroom boutique in Pembrokeshire has confirmed after a recent search that Barsby is the man appointed to now head up the boutique’s restaurant operation.

He joins the brigade from his role as head chef at Gidleigh Park, where he works under legendary executive chef Michael Caines and has done since 2008.

Allister also has experience at Bath Priory and Michelin-starred Reads Restaurant with Rooms.

After being moulded by one of the best chefs in the UK and coming from experience running a large brigade at Gidleigh Park, Allister aims to continue the success of the food offering at The Grove.

The Grove has also announced that the hotel’s new head chef will be Peter Whaley.

Whaley, who hails from the Fat Duck in Bray, has been working at The Grove for 18 months as senior sous chef.
