A boutique hotel in Gloucester has kicked off a major phase of development, as it lays the first foundations for a new £3m luxury spa.
Hatherley Manor Hotel has now begun work on the new addition, which will be home to six treatment rooms, two swimming pools, a thermal suite, a sauna, steam heated loungers, a relaxation room and a gym, when it opens its doors this December.
It will also come with its own private spa lounge, Champagne bar and five new bedrooms, as well as a roof terrace.
Hatherley Manor Hotel is set in 37 acres of gardens and is said to have been first built for the illegitimate son of Oliver Cromwell.
In addition to the spa, Hatherley Manor will be remodelling its walled garden, which will be ready at the end of May.
Stephen Trowbridge, general manager at Hatherley Manor Hotel says: “We are all really excited about the launch of the spa, seeing the last couple years of planning now physically taking shape is fantastic for us. We believe that the addition of the spa will be a great addition to the hotel, our visitors but also the local residents and businesses that we serve.”
The four-star hotel is home to 51 bedrooms and a popular restaurant.
