Grade-II listed country hotel in the Lakes boosts ‘enormous potential’ for new buyer

The Langdale Chase Hotel on Lake Windermere has come to market, as the property’s current owners have decided to retire after 23 years.

JLL’s Hotels & Hospitality team have been instructed to sell the Grade-II listed country house hotel and is inviting ‘substantial offers’ to come forward.

Originally built in 1895, the hotel is set in 6 acres of grounds and is located on the shores of Lake Windermere, enjoying consistent trade from the 16 million visitors who come to the Lakes every year.

The hotel recently scooped the title of ‘Best view in Britain’.

The Langdale Chase Hotel’s current directors headed up by managing director Thomas Noblett, have decided to retire following 23 years in the business.

The hotel is a popular wedding and function venue, with 29 bedrooms in addition to a 24 bedroom staff accommodation block which was built in April 2016.

The site is also home to a Lake House, consisting of eight bedrooms, a boat house and two private jettys.

There is also a 15-bed former staff house, which has the potential to be converted into further guest accommodation, a spa or separate function facility, subject to planning consents.
