The owner of the Great Northern Hotel in London has launched Aries Hotels, a new collection of boutique hotels and has welcomed three new members of senior management to support the new venture.
Jeremy Robson, who opened the 91-bedroom boutique in King’s Cross in July 2013, has said he is bidding for the group to ‘become a leading developer and operator of upscale boutique hotels’.
The three new members to the Aries Hotels’ team are Anthony Lee, group chief operations officer and CEO; Andrew Wheal, group rooms’ revenue director and Iain Duncan, group marketing director.
The new senior team will now work across Aries Hotels, alongside their responsibilities at London’s Great Northern Hotel.
Anthony Lee will take up the operational management duties at the Great Northern Hotel as well as spearheading the operational leadership for Aries Hotels as a group.
He joins from Hotel Cafe Royal and prior to that he spent three and a half years as general manager at the May Fair Hotel and was on the Board for the Edwardian Hotel Group.
Lee’s career also spanned 31 years at The Connaught, where under his tenure the hotel underwent two major refurbishments.
Iain Duncan is to take control of all the marketing initiatives at Great Northern Hotel and the Aries Hotels portfolio. He comes from a strong hospitality background, including stints at The One Group with STK and Radio Rooftop bars at the ME Hotels London and Milan.
Andrew Wheal will become the hotel’s rooms’ revenue specialist. He has enjoyed a career in some of London’s top five-star hotels, including The Maybourne Hotel Group and the Shangri-La Hotel in The Shard, London Bridge.
