A hotel refurbishment project in Cairngorms National Park has now been given the go ahead.
The historic Braemar’s Fife Arms Hotel will now undergo a major upgrade and renovation after the project got the green light from the Cairngorms National Park Authority.
The owners of Fife Arms Hotel, Highlands Hospitality have now secured planning permission to remodel and refurbish the B-listed building, with the works expected to take 2 years to complete.
According to the application, the owners will now make major internal and external alterations to the property, along with the demolition of 20th century extensions.
A heather roofed courtyard has also been included in the plans and will be added to the hotel.
The Fife Arms currently consists of 78 bedrooms, a bar, lounge and restaurant, as well as a coffee shop. The lounge is home to an open fire with the original coast of arms of the Duke of Fife above it.
The newly-refurbished Fife Arms is scheduled to re-open in early 2018.
