Kitchenware supplier Grunwerg has launched Vektra, an in-room ‘kettle and flask rolled into one’.
Constructed with a double-wall vacuum, the Vektra is said to be the first kettle on the market that can keep water hot for up to four hours after it has boiled — saving guests time and saving hoteliers energy.
If guests choose to boil the water again within the four hours, the kettle requires only a small amount of energy to boil the warm water.
Furthermore, the product runs on alower wattage than standard kettles, so even when boiling a full kettle of cold water it uses less energy, according to Grunwerg.
The vacuum insulation also acts as a safety feature as the outer walls of the kettle do not get hot.
Having tested Vektra against other leading branded kettles, Grunwerg said each kettle can save around £2 a month on energy bills – a saving of around 50%.
Grunwerg will launch Vektra to the hotel market at Hotelympia in London from April 21 – May 1 2014.
