Guests can ‘dive into giant glass of bubbly’ at London hotel

Andaz Liverpool Street is inviting guests to experience the sensation of diving into a glass of bubbly in the hotel’s lobby Lounge.

The East London hotel has opened the multi-sensory ‘Dive into a Glass of Veuve Clicquot Champagne’ installation, created by British designer Harvey & John.

Open to the public until early April 2014, the free-to-visit installation comprises 25 giant glowing spheres of which five are projected out of champagne-bottle sculptures filled with high-pressure air.

Guests are invited to interact with the five floating and 20 suspended bubbles, which shine brighter and radiate a glowing yellow colour when poked, squeezed or hugged.

Ranging in size from 50-80cm in diameter, the bubbles can float up to three metres high. The speed at which the giant bubbles rise and fall from the sculptures varies.

GM Tim Flodin commented: "The Andaz team and I are very excited about working with Harvey & John and Veuve Clicquot who also share our inspirational vision. We hope our guests will find this unique installation as exciting as we do”.
