The group, which consists of 20 properties across the UK and Channel Islands, selected the 800-year-old historic four-star country house hotel after the property delivered a ‘solid’ financial performance and received ongoing positive feedback from guests.
New Hall Hotel is set in 26 acres of grounds and gardens and features a 2 AA Rosette restaurant, The Bridge, plus 60 bedrooms, six meeting rooms and a spa and health club.
At the awards ceremony, which was attended by more than 75 guests as well as the Hand Picked Hotels board of directors, Julia Hands, chairman and CEO of Hand Picked Hotels, also said that the hotel had been ‘meticulously maintained’ and praised staff for their service and commitment to consistently high standards at New Hall.

“In addition to delivering a solid financial performance, New Hall Hotel has enjoyed ongoing positive feedback from guests who praised the team for their warm welcome, attentive service and delivering a consistently high quality dining experience in particular. The hotel has also been meticulously maintained by the team to ensure the 13th century manor house and grounds are beautifully presented and New Hall has achieved the top score across the portfolio for employee retention and satisfaction, an area which is incredibly important.”
General manager at New Hall, Jonathan Squire commented: “On behalf of everyone at New Hall Hotel, I am thrilled to receive this award in recognition of all the hard work and dedication of the team. New Hall is a very special hotel both in terms of its unique façade and grand interior spaces but also in the friendly and informal environment we work hard to maintain.”
