Why have you nominated Hannah Bellefontaine as this month’s star hotelier?
Hannah embodies our values as owners and delivers them with a sense that they are her own. She is loyalty personified and infinitely adaptable. She concentrates on the moment which is the key to good hospitality, but can also think ahead. She set up the daily administration functions while we were opening our second property, The Talbot Inn, using her knowledge built up at The Beckford Arms — while dealing with daily functions at The Beckford Arms — and has even helped market our own range of boutique bath and body amenities, Bramley Products, to other boutique hotels.
How has Bellefontaine gone above and beyond the call of duty?
Last week, Hannah was sorting out a functions and rooms issue with a tricky customer by email from her hospital bed, just an hour after giving birth to her second child, Florence. We’re incredibly lucky to have an employee who is so enthusiastic and cares about every single guest. She can be a little scatty sometimes but that is also her charm.
Good employees make for a great boutique hotel experience and this experience starts before customers arrive, Hannah knows this and delivers day in day out — we hope she stays forever. Well done — you earned the accolade yourself through all the small things.
