Harbour Hotels has acquired its first London property, with the acquisition of the Richmond Gate Hotel.

The 68-bedroom hotel, which is situated opposite Richmond Park, will now undergo an extensive refurbishment throughout before relaunching as a Harbour Hotel in winter 2018.

The 18th century property is home to 68 bedrooms and a leisure club, which will converted into the Harbour brand’s signature spa HarSPA.

The brand’s Jetty restaurant concept will also be introduced.

Mike Warren, managing director of Harbour Hotels, comments: “We are very excited to be taking the Harbour Hotels brand to London; it’s an exciting location and a key strategic position from our perspective. The Richmond Gate Hotel is a landmark property, with an outstanding setting, we are delighted to have such an addition to the Harbour Hotels portfolio.”

The latest acquisition takes the Harbour Hotels portfolio to a total of 11 hotels and two venues, and follows the launch of Southampton Harbour Hotel in September after a £25m development.
