Planning officials are due to make a decision on proposals for a new four-star hotel in Torquay, which has been proposed by the Nicholas James Group and would be a Harbour Hotel.
The £32m plan to restore Torquay Pavilion with a five-storey 60-bedroom hotel, plus 11 storey block of flats, will be put to council officers next week.
Plans were originally submitted to Torbay Council in 2015 but have been substantially revised with more improvements around the site now included.
If given the go ahead, the pavilion would be converted into a hotel reception and spa, including restaurant, bars and function rooms.
The application also includes construction of a new harbour walkway, 289 parking spaces, a marina office and berth facilities.
A planning application for the scheme and listed building application for works to the Pavilion will be discussed at a meeting of Torbay Council’s planning committee on 27 February 2017.
