The Macdonald Townhouse Hotel has been rebranded by its owners, Harcourt Developments.
The historic Portland Street property in the city centre will now be named Townhouse Hotel Manchester, as new general manager Louise Jones comes on board.
Owners of the Townhouse, Harcourt Developments, now hope the rebrand will mark the start of a new direction for the 85-bedroom boutique, as it becomes a sister venue to the multi award-winning Titanic Hotel Liverpool & Rum Warehouse.
Jones joins the Townhouse Hotel Manchester from her role as general manager at Holiday Inn at MediaCity UK, bringing with her more than 20 years’ experience in the industry.
Speaking to Manchester Evening News, Jones said: “This announcement marks a new direction for the hotel, which we’re very excited about. We have retained the majority of staff, so guests can expect the same high quality level of service and comfort, but with a few added extras. Given the history of the building and Portland Street itself, we are carefully considering all options before any redevelopment.”
Harcourt is the driving force behind the transformation of the historic drawing offices at Harland and Wolfe into the new Titanic Hotel in Belfast, due to open this year.
