Hollywood director sets the scene for new luxury hotel

Hollywood filmmaker Guy Ritchie is reportedly pouring millions of pounds into transforming a barn on his country estate in Wiltshire into a luxury hotel, spa and gun retreat.

The director is said to be building the hotel on his 1,200 acre Ashcombe House grounds into a rural shooting retreat, together with 12 bedrooms, an indoor pool, cinema and library, where guests will be doutted on by 54 members of staff.

Despite being in the midst of a custody battle with ex-wife Madonna over where their teenage son lives, Richie recently submitted a planning application for the new property, which has now been approved.

The filmmaker himself loves shooting and according to reports, has found a real gap in the market for a world-class retreat and believes the new venture will find particular favor with tourists from America and Japan.

The Wiltshire estate is already home to a micro-brewery on site.

Madonna and Guy purchased Ashcombe House in 2001, but it was handed over to Guy in 2008 as part of the couple’s divorce settlement.
