Hot new hotel openings set for 2015


We take a look at the new boutique hotels set to open this year. 

The Zetter Marylebone – opening Q2 2015
The Zetter group, which has two eclectically beautiful hotels in Clerkenwell, London, will move into a 24-bedroom Georgian townhouse in Marylebone in the spring. It will become the sister to The Zetter Townhouse and The Zetter and will feature a cosy cocktail lounge, antique furniture and hand-painted wallpaper. The restaurant, Seymour’s Parlour, will feature dishes from renowned French chef Bruno Loubet.

Hotel Football – opening in March 2015
Former Manchester United football stars Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs will launch their new joint venture, Hotel Football in March this year. It will be the world’s first ‘football hotel’ and will be home to 133 bedrooms located directly opposite Old Trafford football ground on Sir Matt Busby Way.

Bound to be a popular choice for football fans on match days, the 10-storey hotel will also be home to a conference centre and five-a-side football pitch on its roof.

Z Shoreditch – opening March 2015
Hot on the heels of quirky success stories The Hoxton and Ace Hotel, the latest Z will open in Old Street in March. The hotel will contribute to the regeneration of the area and will have 111 bedrooms over three floors. It will be located within The Bower area of Old Street with easy access to restaurants and shops.

The hotel will join Z Soho, Z Victoria and Z Piccadilly as part of the group’s London portfolio.

Hotel Gotham – opening April 2015
Bespoke Hotels will open its newest establishment, Hotel Gotham in King Street, Manchester, to the public in April.

The hotel, featuring 60-bedrooms spread over seven floors, will see the restaurant and reception housed on the sixth floor as well as a bar and members club on the seventh boasting views over the city. Another key feature of the hotel will be four £300-a-night suites with private indoor gardens which take an exotic theme.

Innside Manchester – opening May 2015
Meliá Hotels International will open its first UK site outside London in Manchester at the First Street development in the city centre, after a £25m investment. The hotel will open in May and will feature 208 bedrooms, a restaurant, bar, wellness suite and conference facilities.

The Innside Manchester Hotel will be the first Meliá Hotels International site under the ‘superior or upscale’ Innside brand in the UK.

The Lanesborough – opening spring 2015
The Lanesborough London has joined the Oetker Collection before it re-launches to the public in spring 2015. It will be the Oetker Collection’s first managed hotel in the UK market.

The Lanesborough will re-open in the spring after being closed since the end of 2013 for a complete renovation. It has 93 bedrooms and suites as well as a spa and various dining options.

Gainsborough Spa – opening summer 2015
The Gainsborough Bath Spa, the first UK classic hotel offering from YTL Hotels, will open in summer 2015. The new 99-bedroom hotel will be made up of three Grade-II listed Georgian buildings and will be the only hotel in the UK to have direct access to natural thermal waters.

YTL Hotels is launching The Gainsborough Bath Spa as its first venture into the UK market, following on from the group’s successes with Pangkor Laut Resort and The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur.

The interiors have been designed by Champalimaud Design, the design firm behind the stylish The Carlyle in New York and The Dorchester in London.

The Laslett – opening summer 2015
Living Rooms will open The Laslett in Notting Hill in the summer as its latest venture. The new boutique will be home to 51 bedrooms spread across five Victoria mansions on Pembridge Gardens, and has been named after the much-loved local Rhuane Laslett, founder of the famous Notting Hill Carnival.

The hotel will also be home to an extensive lobby, which will be part coffee shop, part kitchen/bar, part gallery and part concept store. The multifunctional space will evolve throughout the day.
Each bedroom will be influenced by its local London culture, combining a British identity with finds from around the world.

Padstow Townhouse – opening 2015
Michelin-starred chef Paul Ainsworth from his restaurant Number 6 announced in September 2014 plans to open his first accommodation offering. He acquired the property previously known as The Tregea Hotel, and will relaunch it as the Padstow Townhouse in 2015.

The new boutique will feature six luxury bedrooms in the heart of the Cornish harbour town on the edge of the Camel Estuary.
