Hotel planned on site of Blackpool’s burnt-down Yates’s

A five-story hotel could be built on the site of the former Yates’s Wine Lodge in Blackpool, according to The Gazette. 

The site in the town centre has been empty since a fire – suspected arson – destroyed the venue five years ago. 

Town hall planners are developers are discussing a hotel project with more than 100 rooms, with an entrance on Clifton Street.

Building firm Reco Build began work last September for a scheme including a buffet-style restaurant and Tesco store, but construction was halted.
