A five-star hotel and wedding venue in Wales has come under fire for posting a job advert ‘seeking slightly OCD’ staff.
Fairyhill in the Gower, South Wales is a popular wedding and exclusive-use venue, tweeted an advert with a picture of disorganised cutlery and the caption: ‘Slightly OCD? We’d like to hear from you.’
The advert received backlash from social media users, with one replying to the advert saying: ‘OCD can increase vulnerability to suicide up to 10 times.’
Speaking to the Metro, Ashley Fullwood of charity OCD-UK said Fairyhill did not mean to offend but ignorance is no excuse for ‘such a stigmatic and trivialising post’.
In response Fairyhill apologised and said no harm was meant. A new advert will now be released.
Fairyhill is an eight-bedroom luxury Georgian mansion set in 24 acres of grounds which reopened this month solely as a wedding and function venue.
The owners also own fellow Gower hotel Oldwalls.
