House re-opens as Galway races come under starter’s orders

The House Hotel, “one of the best places to stay in Ireland,” according to Matt Gross of the New York Times, re-opens for business today (25 July).

Following a complete refurbishment of the boutique hotel, which also houses Galway’s favourite cocktail bar, there is a new bistro menu offering sharing plates, tasty bites, and pizza.

The House has a selection of dining options from those looking for a snack with a cocktail, to guests celebrating in full fine dining mode.

There is also a new coffee ‘dock’ and an additional bar in the lobby.

As for décor, hot pink will remain The House’s predominant colour inside and out so it is still easy to spot in the heart of the Latin quarter of the town.

The original House team, headed by Margaret Jenkins, General Manager, is looking forward to showing off the extensive redesign.

The famous seven days summer Galway races start on the 28 July so the House team in the first week of reopening are expecting a festival of fashion and fun with a late bar and nightly entertainment throughout the week, concluding with rated Galway band Kif on Friday 1 August.
