Iconic 120-year-old Devon hotel celebrates milestone with major developments

The Thurlestone Hotel, is celebrating in 120th anniversary in style, with some major developments having just been unveiled at the four-star property.

The hotel, which has been welcoming guests for more than 10 decades, has opened a new children’s space and an extension to the adjacent Village Inn on site to mark Thurlestone’s milestone birthday.

Owned by the Grose family since 1896, The Thurlestone is home to an award-winning restaurant, spa, indoor and outdoor pools, and tennis courts, plus 65 rooms and suites.

The new surf-themed children’s space consist of a huge play area equipped with toys and games, and a separate room for older kids, home to a games table, film projector and interactive computer games.

The Village Inn, adjacent to the The Thurlestone, was once home to the original hotel building and has now been extended to house a larger dining space and new seating area.

A new menu will be rolled out in the coming weeks, with a focus on local produce.

The historic inn is popular with hotel guests as well as locals and visitors to the area.
