He said: “Portmeirion was always a hotel that I admired – its location, history and reputation for excellence. So, when the role of Hotel Manager came up, I knew I had to go for it. It’s an absolutely wonderful place to work and the perfect environment to develop further.”

Portmeirion is a hotel and private village on its own peninsula on the coast of Snowdonia in North Wales. It first opened the hotel in 1926 and now consists of an award-winning restaurant that recently scooped The Food Awards Wales’ North Wales Hotel Restaurant of the Year award.

Commenting on the appointment of Redfern, Robin Llywelyn, Portmeirion’s managing director, said: “We are delighted to welcome Ashley to the team at Portmeirion. His impressive track record of excellence as well as his knowledge of the industry makes us sure he will do a fine job in his position as hotel manager.”
