InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced it is to expand its boutique property portfolio with the signing of Hotel Indigo Stratford-upon-Avon.
The hotel will operate under a franchise agreement with St James’s Hotel Group and open its doors in early 2018.
The 92-bed property will be rebranded from the Falcon Hotel and just like other Hotel Indigo establishments it will ‘combine modern design and intimate service associated with a boutique hotel, with the conveniences and consistencies you can expect from staying at one of the world’s largest hotel groups’.
Alongside the 92 bedrooms, the hotel will feature a restaurant, bar and lounge, as well as a gym and meeting room.
The property will add to the 19 Hotel Indigo properties in the portfolio in Europe, with a further 11 hotels in IHG’s development pipeline.
Of those, nine Hotel Indigo properties are open in the UK and a further eight, including Stratford-upon-Avon, are in the pipeline.
Anna Corkill, development director for the UK & Ireland said: “We’re delighted to have signed Hotel Indigo Stratford-upon-Avon with long standing partner St James’s Hotel Group. The boutique hotel market is the fastest growing segment in the industry and our pioneering Hotel Indigo brand is going from strength to strength in the UK. The great location of this hotel coupled with its quintessentially British appeal positions it as a destination in its own right.”
