A boutique hotel in Fowey has promoted its talented young sous chef to head up its fast-paced kitchen.
Ryan Kellow has now taken on his first head chef role at The Old Quay House Hotel following the department of Ben Bass earlier this year.
Kellow first worked at the waterfront hotel from 2012 to 2013, before leaving to take up a position at the St Moritz Hotel near Wadebridge and then Hotel Endsleigh in Devon. He then returned to The Old Quay House Hotel.
Kellow said: "I am excited to take on my first head chef role at The Old Quay House. I live and grew up in St Blazey, just a short distance from Fowey, so I know the area well.
"The role is a brilliant opportunity to evolve the current menu, and work with some of the excellent suppliers we are lucky to have on our doorstep."
Kellow is working closely with suppliers in the area including Fish for Thought and Kittows of Fowey to ensure all ingredients are local and seasonal
Jane Carson, owner of The Old Quay House Hotel, said: "I am delighted that Ryan has returned to the team and that we have promoted him to head chef.
"His classical style of cooking is well-received among our customers. He has also put his own stamp on the menu, reflecting the bountiful array of seafood and fresh ingredients we have access to in Cornwall."
