This year’s Independent Hotel Show came to a close yesterday, after thousands of hospitality professionals passed through its doors over the course of the two-day exhibition.

The third annual IHS has fast become a must-attend date in the diary for the owners of boutique and independent hotels all over the country, and once again this year the aisles were lined with innovative and exciting suppliers showcasing their products to an eager crowd.

As well as key hospitality companies on show, there was a whole host of seminars and talks to provide visitors with an insight into the trends for next season and inspire them to better their business.

Martin Mongan, MD at Hansgrohe commented: “We’ve had a great show – it’s been really busy and we’ve met some key people. That’s what’s great about this show – you can really connect with the people who hold the purse strings and things happen a lot quicker. We’ve made lots of leads who want projects completed in 6-9 months time so it’s a much faster turnaround.”

The winners of the Independent Hotel Show Awards were also announced, with acclaimed hoteliers Tim and Kit Kemp being crowned Independent Hoteliers of the Year, and The Pig on the Beach scooping the prize for Outstanding New Hotel of the Year.

Kit Kemp said: “We’re really flattered and quite surprised to win this award. It’s been a busy and a big year for us with the opening of Ham Yard Hotel complete with bowling alley, theatre, apartments and shops. We’re so grateful for the award, thank you so much to everyone who voted for us.”
