The Independent Hotel Show has announced the launch of its programme of business seminars.
The exhibition, taking place on 20 and 21 October at Olympia West, will bring together a panel of expert hoteliers and industry analysis to discuss a number of key topics over the period of the two days as part of the show’s programme.
The free-to-attend seminars and panel discussions will take place in the Business Theatre and the Innovation Stage, and will be tailored to the needs to the independent and boutique hotelier.
New to this year’s show is the Independent Think Tank, a smaller gathering of industry professionals debating issues and inviting contribution and participation from the audience.
Also on the bill is the expanded Destination Spa Talks programme, featuring a range of sessions targeted at hoteliers looking to enhance their spa offering.
All sessions will cover a wide mix of insight and advice to help visitors build and grow a successful hotel business, from marketing and sales support, business, investment and growth insight, design and technology trends and staff and service best practice.
Some of the highlights will see be a panel including Paula McMinn of The Savoy and Neil Leo of Ace Hotel discussing The Future of Service, and a session for visitors to learn tricks of the trade as a panel of experts, including Simon Rhatigan of Devonshire Hotels, James Lohan of Mr & Mrs Smith and Petra Clayton of Custard Communications, present 20 sure-fire ways to fill a hotel throughout the year.
There will also be a session on nurturing staff in hospitality, delivered by Jonathan Raggett, MD of Red Carnation Hotels and Chairman of The Master Innholders, Carrie Wicks, Operations Director at Firmdale Hotels and Tim Hart, Owner of Hambleton Hall.
