Indian boutique hotel chain The Park Hotels has unveiled a new four-star brand, Zone by the Park, overseen by London-based designer Project Orange.
The new brand, to be rolled out across India, will offer design-led rooms priced at around £50-70.
Four properties are currently in the pipeline for Delhi; Raipur — the capital of Chattisgarh — due to open in quarter one of 2014; Dehradun — the capital of Uttarakhand and the “birthplace” of yoga; and the second largest city in Tamil Nadu.
“Zone will cater to the gap in the Indian hotel market for the burgeoning Indian middle class and discerning international traveller looking for more affordable travel,” commented Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels Limited MD Vijay Dewan.
The Park Hotels are renowned for a strong emphasis on design and the new concept will feature interactive and buzzing spaces with creative and playful interiors, significant restaurants, bars and nightlife. Public areas will be inspired by the traditional market bazaar.
Project Orange has worked on a number of notable hospitality projects, including a concept room at The Hoxton Hotel.
