Indian hospitality group’s debut London hotel venture revamps with new upscale bar

The Royal Park – A Roseate House Hotel, the first London venture for Indian hospitality company, Bird Group, has opened its doors to a new upscale bar in a bid to capitalise on London’s thriving scene.

The boutique hotel, which comprises three renovated mid-19th century Grade-II listed townhouses, is owned and operated by the Bird Group, a leading business in India with a portfolio in technology, hospitality, education and retail.

Now the property, which is the first London venture for the group, has launched The Hyde, which will aim to be a new chic cocktail bar for the city of London, offering ‘classic sophistication meeting artistic magnetism’.

The space has been designed by the in-house design team at Roseate Hotels and Resorts, along with design inputs from Mrs. Smriti Bhatia. The walls are adorned with original period features and artwork, with a grand open fire place providing an inviting welcome.

The hotel is managed by Dr. Ankur Bhatia executive director, Bird Group. Speaking about the Bird Group’s venture into the UK, he said, “The Royal Park – A Roseate House Hotel provided the Bird Group with an opportunity to establish itself within the hospitality sector beyond India, where we already opened and operate two luxury hotels in New Delhi. We are also exploring further developments.”

The bar’s head bartender is Luca Rapetti, who was runner up at the 2016 UK Final of the Courvoisier cocktail competition.

The bar’s tasting menu has been curated by head chef Matt McKiernan, who joined from the group’s five-star The Forbury Roseate in reading, where he was senior sous chef as the restaurant won 2 AA Rosettes.
