India’s Taj Group reflags two luxury London hotels

India-based Taj Group has reflagged two of its owned properties in London, the Crowne Plaza St. James and 51 Buckingham Gate, as Taj hotels.

As part of the rebranding, the group will manage the newly-named Taj 51 Buckingham Gate Suites and Residences, as well as St. James’ Court, A Taj Hotel which was previously operated by InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG).

Taj Group senior vice president Deepa Harris said: "The success of our London hotels provided the impetus to consolidate our brand presence in the UK, being an important source market for Taj”.

Under its new operator, St. James’ Court will feature new amenities and services, including in-room check-in and access to a fleet of vintage and classic vehicles.

Renovation work is planned at Taj 51 Buckingham Gate Suites and Residences, including the remodelling of suites, a new lobby and reception lounge, a new restaurant, tea and library lounges and a private dining area.

Taj 51 Buckingham Gate, which currently features ‘the world’s first Jaguar Suite’ and a cinema suite, will also launch the Taj Royal Attache butler service, optional Jaguar airport transfers and horse and carriage rides.
