The Strands Hotel and Screes Inn in Cumbria have both gone up for sale, with the added bonus of boasting an on-site microbrewery, for an asking price of £2m.
The properties, located in Nether Wasdale in the Lake District, are owned by husband and wife Mark and Lesley Corr who ‘fell in love’ with the 18th century inn during their first trip to the village more than a decade ago.
Originally built as a hotel and post house, The Strands Hotel, named Pub of the Year in 2016, is home to 14 bedrooms, lounge bar, and restaurant, in addition to a three bedroom owner’s accommodation.
In 2007, the Corrs opened an on-site microbrewery and recently opened the brewery shop.
Then over ten years later, the couple purchased the Screes Inn pub with a further eight bedrooms to add to the business offering.
Keith Stringer, director at Christie & Co who is handling the sale comments: “Visitors to the area are sure to be impressed by the quality of both Freeholds and the brewery and the sale represents a perfect opportunity to further build on the current owners’ success as they plan a well-earned retirement.”
