Investigations are continuing into multiple stabbings that took place during New Year’s Eve celebrations at the Bel Air Nightclub in the Belfry hotel, Birmingham.
Police have now arrested a total of seven people in connection with the incident.
Four men from the Birmingham area, aged between 21 and 27, were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder on Friday 2nd January. One has been released while the others remain in police custody.
Upon arriving on the scene at the nightclub in Wishaw, Sutton Coldfield, officers initially arrested a 26 year old-man from Birmingham on suspicion of causing Grievous Bodily Harm.
A 22 year-old man, from Birmingham, suspected of assaulting another man, and a 20-year old man, also from Birmingham, was arrested on suspicion of violent disorder. All three men have now been released on police bail.
While police were at the scene further incidents took place, both inside and outside of the nightclub, resulting in a further five people sustaining injuries, believed to be stab wounds.
Four were taken to hospital and one presented at hospital at a later time. One man remains in hospital in a stable but serious condition. The remaining four men were treated at hospital and have all now been discharged.
