Investment planned as Queens Head boutique is sold

The Queens Head Inn in Nassington, Northamptonshire has been sold to Completehotels, who now plan to invest a significant amount into the property in an extensive refurbishment project.

The freehold of the 10-bedroom hotel has been passed over by local businessman Michael Padley to Completehotels, which has operated the 2 AA Rosette pub restaurant since 2010 and been a Classic Lodges Partner Property since 2012.

Refurbishment work is already planned to some of the bedrooms and bathrooms, alongside a more ambitious plan to improve the outdoor areas to make them more appealing to diners in the summer.

“Having owned and operated the business for the last five years we understand what makes it tick,” says Robert Smith, managing director and joint owner.

“In buying the freehold we can plan further ahead and invest with greater certainty, and develop the business with a clear strategy.”

Paul Smyth, operations director and joint owner who is based at the Queens Head Inn, says the purchase of the freehold means that they have longer-term stability for the existing team of management and staff, and can even look forward to employing and developing additional staff in the coming months.

He said: “This is an exciting time to be involved with the Queens Head Inn as we start the next stage of our ambitious journey to make it a household name as the pre-eminent pub, restaurant and small hotel in the region.”

The Queens Head is renowned for its food and has a seasonally changing a la carte menu, specialising in high quality steaks including the world famous Wagyu. It was awarded its second AA Rosette in May 2014.
