S&S Northern has installed its latest gas safety equipment at one of former Dragons’ Den star James Caan’s newest restaurant properties following a project overseen by distributor Harmony Business & Technology.
The Kendal-based kitchen house recently completed the fit-out of a new kitchen at the Sharrow Bay hotel, which was bought by Caan’s private equity company last year.
Harmony worked closely with the management at the luxury boutique hotel in the Lake District to install a range of new equipment in the restaurant’s kitchen.
As well as specifying the installation of a new cookline, hotel manager Russell McCade was also committed to meeting the health and safety standards for staff set out for commercial kitchens.
That included complying with new gas safety legislation, which led to Harmony sourcing a Merlin 1650 gas interlock and CO2 detector from S&S Northern.
Jim Scott, service manager at Harmony Business and Technology, said it specified the S&S Northern gas interlock products for their quality and performance.
“When it comes to a gas detection device, what you need reliability,” he said. “It also helps that they are simple to use and understand, so the end-user can see clearly if their kitchen is safe or not, there is no second guessing.”
Harmony Business has serviced and maintained Sharrow Bay’s hotel kitchen and laundry equipment for a number of years.
