The Phoenix Tavern landlord David Selves plans to transform the Swan and Harlequin pub in Faversham, Canterbury into a boutique hotel and restaurant.

Selves, who has bought the property on Conduit Street, hopes to start work on the transformation on April 1, with the first of eight unique bedrooms to be ready by mid-May.

Renamed Faversham Creek Hotel, the property will feature a fine-dining experience at Red Sails restaurant. Interviews with potential chefs are already underway, according to the report in the Canterbury Times.
