The newly re-launched Kings Head in Cirencester has announced the appointment of Alan Holmes as its new restaurant and cellar manager.
Former Sommelier of the Year, Holmes brings with him a wealth of experience from his previous positions held at Marcus Wareing’s Petrus, The Berkeley Hotel and Chewton Glen, where he held a managerial role for eight years before moving to his most recent position at The Vineyard in West Berkshire.
Holmes will now oversee all the front of house offering at the Kings Head.
Reopening just last week after a multi-million pound refurbishment, the 45-bedroom hotel now boasts a spa, event space and restaurant, all designed to be modern, elegant and stylish.
Speaking of his appointment, Alan Holmes said: “I am delighted to be joining what is shaping up to be an exciting team here at the Kings Head. After a fantastic two years working at The Vineyard near Stockcross, I am really excited to be continuing my career with The Vineyard Group, but in a fresh, new direction. I will be bringing my experience of The Vineyard Group’s outstanding level of service to Cirencester’s first luxury bolthole.”
General Manager Stephen Mannock said: “I am thrilled to have Alan on board, joining our executive chef Wayne Sullivan. Together they will lead the restaurant to become a fantastic foodie destination,” he said. “Joining us from The Vineyard Group, Alan will continue the exceptional level of service the group is known for.”
