A 75-bedroom hotel in Cumbria has seen bookings double since introducing a new property management system.
The Lakeside Hotel, which enjoys spectacular views over Windermere, opted for a cloud-hosted Rezlynx property management system, provided by Guestline. The new technology, which covers distribution, online booking and secure payment platforms, has helped drive direct bookings to 70%.
“The system has made a huge difference to our business,” says Clive Wilson, general manager at the hotel. “It’s multi-functional and there are lots of shortcuts, helping us save time and resources every day.”
Housekeeping staff can log in at any time via an iPad to check the status of a room, while reception can check guests in and out from anywhere around the hotel. Management can also ensure that things are running smoothly by accessing the system off-site.
“We have been able to increase our average room rates due to the ease of being able to flex and manage rates automatically, optimizing our revenue streams,” adds Wilson. “With the automation of many of the processes, we have saved a lot of time which has allowed us to engage more with our guests.”
