A landmark hotel on the ‘Road to the Isles’ has been put on the market.
The Balmacara has gone up for sale with Colliers International with an asking price of almost £600,000, as the current owners want to focus more time on developing their self-catering business.
The hotel, a few miles from the Skye Bridge, is owed by Peter and Helen Hennessy, and consists of 28 bedrooms, two bars a lounge and a restaurant which enjoys views across Loch Alsh.
It also comes complete with one-bedroom flat and staff accommodation.
Alistair Letham, a director in the UK hotels agency team at Colliers International, said: “This attractive property in the north west Highlands on the road to Skye trades on a seasonal basis and attracts a good level of custom and profitability. New owners also have the choice and opportunity to extend the season of trading to all year round. A private house, for resident owners, is available by separate negotiation.”
