Laura Ashley unveils second boutique hotel in the Lakes

Almost exactly a year after opening its very first luxury hotel offering, fashion brand Laura Ashley has launched a second establishment in Bowness-on-Windermere, Cumbria, under a licensing agreement with Corus Hotels.

The newest Laura Ashley The Belsfield Lake District, formerly known as Victoria Belsfield Hotel, is now open following a £3.5m refurbishment, and is home to 62-bedrooms and suites overlooking Lake Windermere.

The hotel joins The Manor Elstree which opened its doors to the public last August.

Both hotels are decorated throughout with the brand’s iconic muted-palette furnishings, and give guests the option to buy anything featured in each room online via the Laura Ashley website.

As well as breathtaking views across the Cumbrian hills, the hotel boasts a locally-inspired menu, heated swimming pool, drawing room and garden terrace.

The Grade II listed building dates back to 1845, when it was first built as a private residence for Baroness Von Sternberg, before being converted into a hotel in 1892.

Andrew Clayton, CEO of Corus Hotels, said: “We were privileged to be invited by Laura Ashley to manage their first hotel, The Manor at Elstree, and we were involved with this project from the design phase through to completion and launch.”
