Plans for a new boutique hotel and bar in Newcastle have been given the green light, with the lease for the new site now up for grabs.
Eldon Chambers, a Grade-II listed building on Newcastle Quayside, will be transformed into a new boutique hotel after local interior designers Collective design came up with the successful application.
The plans will see the four-storey building, which has only ever provided office space since its construction more than 180 years ago, become home to a ground-floor restaurant and bar, with bedrooms occupying the upper floors boasting views across the River Tyne.
Propery firm Bradley Hall, which is marketing the accommodation for lease, disclose that offers for the property are invited in the region of £195,000 per annum.
The last residents of the building were law firm Blackett Hart & Pratt, before the company relocated to the city centre.
Speaking to Bdaily, Neil Hart, managing director at Bradley Hall, said: “Eldon Chambers is a fabulous opportunity for a leisure operator.
“This is a beautiful building, with bags of character, which will make a perfect boutique hotel in a great city location.”
