Liverpool tops the poll for most expensive hotel night in England on New Year’s Eve

Liverpool was named as the priciest destination in England to stay overnight on New Year’s Eve, beating the likes of London and Bath to claim the top spot.

This is according to a new survey from Cheaproom.co.uk, which found that the average rate of a hotel room on December 31 in Liverpool was £219, compared to £194 in London.

Bath was not far behind Liverpool, with an average of £204.

The survey compared the cost of a double available room in 20 cities that are cited as popular destinations for New Year’s Eve celebrations, compiling the results from centrally located hotels rated three star or above.

The top spot outside of England was Edinburgh, with an average cost of £327. The Scottish capital is a popular destination for Hogmanay celebrations.
