Local operators acquire traditional country boutique in Aberystwyth

The Haford Hotel in Aberystwyth has been acquired by experienced local operators Dewi and Nicol Gwynne, off an asking price of £500k.

Originally built as a hunting lodge in the 1700’s, the Hafod Hotel is a traditional country property, with 16 bedrooms, a restaurant, tea room and bar.

The hotel is set in 7.7 acres and the sale attracted significant levels of interest from potential buyers across the UK, before being snapped up by the Gwynnes, who already own The Cross Foxes in Dolgellau.

The couple are already planning to put their own stamp on The Haford Hotel and expand the potential of the business.

John Coggins of Christie & Co’s Cardiff office who handled the sale, comments: “I’m delighted that we’ve been able to secure buyers as experienced as Dewi & Nicol Gwynne. They have built a fantastic reputation with their existing business and I’m certain they will be able to achieve considerable success with the Hafod Hotel.”
