The newest Locke aparthotel in Manchester has set its sights on an October date, as its transformation project edges one step closer to completion.
Whitworth Locke is due to open in the city centre this October, featuring 160 units made up of one-bedroom suites and 24 sq mtr studios.
The new venture, which is situated on the corner of Princess Street and Whitworth Street, will also be home to an all-day healthy dining restaurant, espresso martini bar, plus a yoga studio and CrossFit gym.
Whitworth Locke is a conversion from the former Atrium serviced apartments, which was originally a cotton mill made up of three buildings, now being transformed nu New York architects Grzywinski + Pons.
As well as the 160 units, the business will also boast a new branch of local brand, Foundation Coffee House, plus a 60-person co-working space, urban greenhouse and cocktail bar.
There are also plans for a DJ booth in the atrium, and a speakeasy bar in the basement.
L’Estrange, a menswear label specialising in simple clothing for capsule wardrobes, will be partnering with the hotel to open Locke Shop.
This is the third aparthotel from the Locke group, and once open, the property will join Eden Locke in Edinburgh and Leman Locke in Aldgate London.
