Staff working in hotels in Liverpool have been deemed the friendliest in the industry, beating off competition from the likes of Manchester, Edinburgh and London.
Guests staying at hotels in Liverpool are much more satisfied with hotel staff’s quality of service, compared with those visiting cities certain cities in the north and our capital, according to a study by Hotel Info.
The figures came as a result of more than two million guest ratings by the international booking portal.
When comparing the largest cities within the UK in terms of friendliness of the staff, guests chose Liverpool as the winner with 8.38 points, followed very closely by Cardiff on 8.37 points.
Last year’s champion, Sheffield, has slipped lower down the leagues to number three, while London was a poor performer, ranked at number 10.
Compared to the results from 2015, while London hadn’t improved its table position, it had increased its points from 7.73 to 7.84.
Bringing up the rear was Coventry, which ranked at number 12 for the second consecutive year.
In Europe, Slovakia came out on top, followed closely by Bulgaria and Poland, while customers were less impressed with French hoteliers and when visiting hotels in Norway.
