The sous chef working at Bath boutique Lucknam Park has made it through to the semi finals of MasterChef: The Professionals.
Dean Westcar who works in the kitchen at the 42-bedroom hotel battles his way through to the BBC1’s MasterChef: The Professionals semi-final, which will be broadcast on December 15.
He will then have to fight off stiff competition from 5 other semi-finalists before the finalists are revealed on December 22.
Westcar says "I am looking forward to it and nervous as well but have to take it as it comes. I am going to try my hardest."
Westcar joined Lucknam Park from his role as junior sous chef at Manor House Hotel in Castle Combe, where he worked for two years and won the title of South West Professional Chef of the Year in 2014.
He now works under the management of head chef at Lucknam Park Hywel Jones. The hotel consists of a spa, equestrian centre, cookery school and Michelin-starred restaurant The Park.
Westcar achieved his place on the BBC1 show after applying online and doing preliminary rounds and interviews. Lucknam Park is thrilled with his progress.
