Farlam Hall, a luxury Victorian country house hotel in Cumbria has gone up for sale with Christie + Co for an asking price of £1.8m.
The 12-bedroom hotel on the Farlam estate is currently owned and operated by the Quinion family, who have been at the helm since 1975. They are now looking to retire after the sale of the property.
The entire estate is comprised of three buildings set in six acres, The Hall, Laundry Cottage and Stable House, which can be purchased separately or as a whole.
The Hall features 12 bedrooms, a residents’ lounge and a restaurant, while the Laundry Cottage is a refurbished 2-bedroom detached bungalow and Stable House comprises another three self-contained cottages. The Stable House is currently being used by the Quinions as their residence.
There is also planning permission on the properties to convert each one into further letting accommodation should this be requested by the new owners.
Mark Worley and Mike Booth of Christie + Co’s Newcastle and Manchester offices are handling the sale of the estate.
Mark comments: “Farlam Hall presents an unmissable opportunity to acquire a high quality hotel with a profitable trading profile and stellar reputation. The property is well placed for exploring the Scottish Borders, Lake District, Northumberland National Park as well as the North Pennines and Hadrian’s Wall World Heritage Site.
“The demand for high-quality provincial UK hotels is tremendous and we anticipate that interest for Farlam Hall will be high.”
