M By Montcalm has announced the appointment of Valdone MacDonald as its new sales and marketing manager.
MacDonald joins from her marketing role at 30 Euston Square, which is also a part of Searcys Collection of Venues alongside M By Montcalm.
She has been with Searcys for more than 10 years after starting her career at the National Portrait Gallery in 2005.
“Val has achieved so much during her three years with 30 Euston Square, being part of the pre and opening team and she is one of our brightest prospects,” comments Johanna Byrane, Searcys’ head of sales. “This move not only provides Val with a new challenge but it will help to give M a fresh perspective on its marketing output. I have every confidence that this will prove to be a fruitful move for both employee and venue.”
M By Montcalm, located in London’s ‘Tech City’ will now focus on pushing its conference and events facilities to the creative and digital industries nearby. The hotel is also home to the Urban Coterie Restaurant and Members Club and Tonic & Remedy – a restaurant and cocktail bar.
“The opportunity to work with a fantastic venue such as the M By Montcalm is something I could not pass up,” said Val.
Searcys has developed a strong reputation for catering and hospitality in London, the City and Bath, since it was founded by the Duke of Northumberland’s pastry chef in 1847.
In the 1970s, it opened a series of bars and small restaurants in London as its first permanent sites and today its portfolio of venues include M by Montcalm Shoreditch, Searcys St Pancras Grand, Searcys, The Gherkin, 30 Pavilion Road and Bath Assembly Rooms.
