Malmaison Liverpool appoints new general manager


Boutique brand, Malmaison, has now appointed Garry Fortune as the new general manager of Malmaison Liverpool.

Fortune has joined the property in Liverpool’s Princes Dock from his previous role as operations director at West Tower Country House. In 2014, he was appointed as the head of Jockey Club Venues, where he headed up the group’s conference and events arm at the group’s 15 racecourses nationwide including Aintree and Haydock Park on Merseyside.

Now his new position will see him manage the day to day running of the hotel, as well as driving forward the business and overseeing the training and development of the team.

Malmaison Liverpool was the brand’s first purpose-built hotel, taking its home in an 11-storey building and boasting 130 bedrooms, bar, the Malbar and Brasserie.

Scott Harper, COO Malmaison, said, “Garry brings a wealth of experience amassed from his 12 years in the industry. We strongly believe that his expertise and knowledge will make him a great addition the Malmaison team and we look forward to him sharing his unique insight with the Malmaison team.”
