Northern Powerhouse Developments expands UK presence with Warwickshire hotel acquisition

A Yorkshire-based hotel and leisure group has strengthened its portfolio with the acquisition of a new property.

Northern Powerhouse Developments has announced it has completed on the purchase of Bourton Hall, a Grade-II-listed residence in Warwickshire.

This latest acquisition takes NPD’s number of UK hotels to 16.

NPD chairman, Gavin Woodhouse, said: “We are delighted to have completed on the purchase of this exceptional country hotel which lies in one of the UK’s most popular tourist destinations.

“Steeped in history it is an area of incredible charm and beauty and Bourton Hall, with its stunning architecture and beautiful grounds, will provide the perfect retreat for guests looking to relax and unwind in style.

“Over the coming months we will sympathetically transform the main hall of the building to provide 56 luxurious ensuite bedrooms while outside we will introduce further bedrooms to the existing stable blocks, build a state-of-the-art spa and add luxurious villas in the grounds.”

Warwickshire attracts millions of tourists annually from around the globe who flock to Rugby, Leamington Spa, Warwick and neighbouring Stratford-upon-Avon.
