Mercure seeks to sell up six branded hotels


Christie + Co has been appointed to sell six Mercure-branded hotels.

The hotels, based in Cheshire, Chester, Hatfield, Telford, Wolverhampton and Wigan, will be sold to new owners and remain under a franchise agreement with Accor under its Mercure brand.

The hotels are available on a whole, sub-group or single asset basis and Christie + Co said that initial interest ‘has been very encouraging’.

The hotels for sale are:

Mercure Bowdon Altrincham Hotel, which comprises 87 bedrooms, a gym, swimming pool, sauna and steam room; the 75-bed Mercure Chester North Woodhey House Hotel, complete with on-site leisure club in addition to a restaurant and bar; Mercure Hatfield Oak Hotel comprising 76 bedrooms, restaurant, bar and a variety of meeting spaces; The Grade-II listed country house, Mercure Telford Madeley Court Hotel, with 17 bedrooms; Mercure Goldthorn Hotel in Wolverhampton comprising 74 bedrooms and Mercure Wigan Oak Hotel, which is available on a long leasehold and complete with 88 bedrooms arranged over five floors in a purpose-built block.
