Milsoms Hotels and Restaurants has reopened The Pier at Harwich following a £1.5m reinvestment, that has seen it transformed in a bid to become East Anglia’s number one coastal destination for food and drink.
The 14-bed property, which is one of four hotels in the luxury family-owned Milsoms portfolio, has been completely revamped with the brasserie, which is now located on the first floor, with an all-day dining menu and a focus on fish and shellfish.
The stripped back and raw textured interior, designed by Geraldine Milsom, makes reference to the industrious and hardworking Harwich port.
Navyärd on the ground floor is a continental bar and terrace adjacent to the working harbour. The name is derived from the historic links that Harwich holds with Scandinavia and wider Europe.
The wines, beers, ales, drinks list and a gin library have been sourced from across Europe and are complemented throughout the day by Nordic-inspired small-plated food.
