Mogford Limited, the Oxford-based independent luxury hotel and restaurant group, is set to complete a total refurbishment following £8.5m in funding from Santander Corporate & Commercial.
The project includes the 17th century Old Parsonage Hotel & Grill, Gee’s Restaurant, the Old Bank Hotel and Quod Restaurant, with part of the refurbishment works at the five-star Old Bank Hotel involving the creation of a new rooftop room with terrace.
The last phase has been the renovation of the Old Bank Hotel and Quod Restaurant which has taken three years and has included the renewal of all bedrooms, the restaurant, and public areas.
Jeremy Mogford, owner, Mogford Limited, said: “The refurbishment means we can continue to offer customers the highest possible standard and level of service. We are incredibly excited about the new rooftop bedroom at the Old Bank, which is the first of its kind in Oxford and will no doubt be very popular. The team at Santander really understands our business and the sector in which we operate so their support has been invaluable throughout this process.”
Nigel Chivers, relationship director, Santander Corporate & Commercial, said: “Mogford’s hotels and restaurants are premier destinations in Oxford and are constantly striving to remain at the top. The funding from Santander has allowed them to complete the refurbishment across the group and continue to offer the extremely high standards that their customers are used to. We look forward to continuing to work with Jeremy and the team.”
Mogford Limited was founded in 1987 by restaurateur Jeremy Mogford who has a long history of owning and managing successful hotels and restaurants. Jeremy founded Browns Restaurants in 1973 with then-business partner John Mayhew, before selling the group in 1996 to Bass Brewery.
