The name of the new boutique hotel set to open in Preston’s old post office has now been revealed, as owners Signature Living plough on with development.
The city will be getting a new ‘Harris’ hotel as the 114-year-old listed building is transformed into a new 65-bedroom boutique property.
Named after Preston’s famous benefactor, the new hotel is expected to be completed by the end of next year as Signature Living begins work on the epic conversion of the building that has been closed since 2005.
As a result, the interior is in poor condition with wet and dry rot.
It was revealed in October 2016 that Signature Living, the company behind Liverpool’s 30 James Street and the newly-launched Shankly Hotel, had submitted a proposal to transform the former post office.
When it is complete the hotel will offer customers high-end accommodation with restaurants, bars and a wedding venue.
